Colorado Animal Specialty and Emergency is offering a private practice emergency and critical care specialty internship which will commence June 21, 2025. We can be flexible in terms of scheduling with this position, offering either a 6-month and 1-year program option. Furthermore, we are open to off-cycle applications whose start date would not be June.
This specialty internship is designed for off-cycle applicants who are interested in a focused internship prior to a yearlong rotating internship, applicants who are interested in pursuing emergency medicine, or applicants who have completed a rotating internship and are interested in more focused critical care medicine with the intention of pursuing a critical care residency following this internship. While the focus will be emergency and critical care with the interns having primary case management under the direct mentorship of our criticalists and experienced emergency clinicians, our multi-specialty hospital offers exposure to and collaboration with internal medicine, nephrology/urology (including extracorporeal therapy), surgery, neurology, diagnostic imaging, cardiology, oncology (medical, surgical, and radiation), anesthesia, and dentistry. Interns will develop into confident diagnosticians and strengthen their verbal/written communication skills as well as leadership and confidence as a clinician.
