The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Cornell University is among the largest schools in College of Engineering, and consistently ranks among the top ECE schools nationally. ECE’s programs encompass digital and computer systems, embedded processors, digital signal processing, RF (wireless) systems, optical communications, atmospheric and space plasmas, energy and power engineering, solid-state electronics, integrated circuit design and fabrication, bioelectrical devices and circuits, and biomedical applications such as image processing, sensors, and signal analysis, and more. The department supports 40-50 faculty and instructors across the Ithaca and Tech campuses, approximately 200 undergraduates, 150 Master of Engineering students and over 130 Ph.D. students.

The Opportunity

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Undergraduate Coordinator to play a key role in supporting the success and well-being of undergraduate students. As a primary point of contact for prospective and current students, as well as their families, this position serves as the public face of the department and contributes to the overall student experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Administration: Provide administrative support for the undergraduate program, including coordinating academic committees and reviews, processing academic actions, and handling major affiliation decisions.

Course Coordination: Organize, schedule, and manage logistics for all departmental courses.

Student & Data Management: Maintain student records, manage course data, generate reports, and support accreditation processes as needed.

Student Success Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering Student Services, faculty, and advisors to develop and implement services that support undergraduate students.

Student Support & Advising Assistance: Participate in addressing students of concern or those at risk, ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity when handling student information.

This is a full-time (39 hours/week) endowed position that is based in Ithaca, NY and fully on-site. Work hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday with occasional weekend and evening hours to help with commencement and other departmental functions that are core to the academic program.   

What You Need

Hold an associate’s degree with a minimum of 4 years related experience or the equivalent combination.

Demonstrate the aptitude to read and comprehend policies, guidelines, protocols and ask appropriate questions when dealing with outlier situations.

Demonstrate the aptitude to quickly learn software programs, understand data relationships using multiple sources, and create meaningful reports.

Be able to work commencement weekend and potentially other events that may be scheduled off business hours.
