Job Title: Employment Community First (ECF) Job Coach
Reports to: Employment Coordinator
Department: Community Employment Services (CES)
Job Purpose: The ECF Job Coach provides job training and support to people with
disabilities who want to work in integrated community employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Assist people by providing on-the-job training at the work site to ensure acceptable levels of productivity relating to both quality and quantity.
-Assist people by utilizing approved person-centered intervention methods at the work site to enhance learning retention of skills and/or reduce undesirable work habits. These methods may include behavior modification techniques, or task analysis of job to teach sequential tasks and follow the outcomes and action steps in their support plan.
-Promote independence and stabilization by fading staff support, while developing natural supports to minimize each person's need for ongoing staff assistance at the worksite.
-Ensure full integration at the worksite by developing appropriate relationships with
his /her non-disabled peers and assuring access to employer provided supports and services.
-Advocate for people at their worksites with regard to work related issues such as work schedules, rate of pay, reasonable accommodations, technological supports, employee benefits, etc.
-Work and maintain flexibility in daily/weekly/monthly schedule to accommodate each
person's support and service needs. This includes, but is not limited to substituting for
staff during sickness, vacations, emergencies, etc.
-Assist people in successfully achieving their person-centered outcomes and action steps, as outlined in their support plan.
-Document progress and attendance of each person by completing daily notes reflective of the support and services provide to each person at the completion of each service, as prescribed by agency and department management.
-Assure the health and safety of each person by properly responding to and reporting
critical incidents, accidents and seizures.
-Assure the continuity of services for each person by adhering to all SRVS policies and
procedures.
-Provide professional services to people by completing and maintaining all required
training and certifications in the prescribed manner and time period.
-Provide comprehensive services to people by performing all other job-related duties as assigned by the program Director or Employment coordinator.
-Advocate for the person by participating in all required meetings and communications
utilizing person-centered practices.
-Work closely with case managers and other stakeholders or disciplines to ensure that each person receives quality supports and services.
Qualifications:
-Demonstrable passion for serving people and a notable drive to improve their lives.
-Strong leadership skills with a willingness to learn best practices, motivational
techniques and team building resources.
-Strong communications skills with the ability to speak effectively with all people.
-Ability to use and knowledge of person-centered practices, forward thinking and
outcome-based leadership skills.
-Strong organizational and critical thinking skills when tasked with multiple projects
and/or staffing issues to assure all rnatters are addressed in an effective and
professional manner.
-Ability to comprehend and navigate complex billing rate structures and procedures to
maximize departmental revenue streams, billing and budget.
-High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in related field.
-Minimum four years of experience in community employment, healthcare, social
services, non-profit, or business sector preferred.
Specialized Training Requirements:
-Training Resource Network (TRN) - Job Coaching and Consulting: Design, Training
and Natural Support online web course.
-Shadowing of existing qualified ECF Job Coach for at least four hours in at least
three different job coaching work sites.
-Initial Provider Training for Vocational Rehabilitation Services with at least 12 hours
of Continuing Education each year.
Working Conditions:
-Requires daily travel to and from job sites. May require night and weekend hours for
training opportunities and special events.
-Must have consistent access to a reliable personal vehicle and will receive the agency
prescribed mileage reimbursement for all authorized business travel.
Physical Requirements:
-Requires extensive traveling walking, and standing during workday and special
events.
-possible lifting may be required depending on the nature of job coaching assignment.
Must be 18 years or older. Must have a valid TN, AR, or MS drivers' license. Must be able to pass all required pre-employment screenings, criminal background checks, and a drug test.
Part-time work hours will vary.
$150 signing bonus received after 90 days of employment.
