A clinically competent, registered, professional echo technologist who delivers care to the patient through the utilization of sonographer knowledge while performing ultrasonic imaging and related procedures as prescribed by physicians under the direction of a Cardiologist. Provides quality patient care by MVRMC policies and procedures and established patient care standards and practice.
Education:
Required: Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED
Required: Knowledge of Cardiac Anatomy and Echo cardiology 9 months to two years, usually obtained by being a graduate of the Committee of Allied Health and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited sonography program or equivalent.
Experience:
Preferred: Include at least one (1) year of experience as an Echo Technologist in an acute care setting
Able to demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Licenses/Certificates:
Required: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International or ARDMS.) in cardiology or equivalent
Required: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required - Due by close on the last day of the month after one full month of work.
