Job Overview:

Performs in-patient and out-patient echocardiography testing. Assists Physician with performing stress echo and trans esophageal testing. Maintains equipment in good working order, selects appropriate settings.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School GraduateGraduate of approved school for cardiopulmonary technology field Currently proposing minimum of an Associate Degree in Science

Preferred:

Up to 24 months of clinical ECHO testing experience desired, in house training will be considered

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer by the American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography

Essential Functions:

Prepares and instructs patients on procedurePerform echo cardiograms, stress echos, and TEEsPrepares test results for physician reading and interpretationAssists fellow sonographers with workload when appropriateVerifies physician order prior to administering test procedureEffectively interacts with physicians, nurses and other ancillary staffIntimate knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology and extensive EKG experienceEnsure compliance of all Joint Commission Standards/ ASE/ and the guidelines of the ICAEL
