Echocardiograph Technologist

Under the direction of the Department Director, supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, the Echo Tech performs clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served:  infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.  Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff.  Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities.  Serves as a clinical/technical resource for less experienced sonographers.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a program in cardiac echocardiography approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association. Or equivalent educ/experience. Completed equivalent training through self-study, on-the-job training, etc. Upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Or Upon hire: National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

Upon hire: Successful completion of national certification examinations in cardiac echocardiography, color doppler and stress testing conducted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Experience as a hospital-based Sonographer.
