We want your knowledge and expertise! **Job Summary and Qualifications** This position supports the mission of HCA HealthONE in optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the supervision of the CV Imaging Manager, coordinates the daily workflow for the Echocardiography lab and outpatient Echocardiography labs. The lead sonographer is responsible for maintaining expert technical and patient-care skills and providing quality diagnostic results. Responsible for orientation and competencies of staff, staff scheduling, patient scheduling, quality improvement, process improvement, and other department initiatives. Works with the CV Imaging Manager and medical director to lead peer review, identify new services, and improve patient satisfaction. Performs echocardiograms, stress test, Transesophageal Echocardiograms and other diagnostic tests and procedures in accordance with established procedures for patients from pediatric through geriatric. Responsible for performance improvement activities, supply/inventory management, data and charge entry data preparation for physician interpretation. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Successful completion of an approved training program. Minimum of 3 years recent hospital or clinical experience preferred. Adult experience required. Pediatric experience preferred. Leadership experience preferred. Knowledge and skills in all areas of echocardiography. Communicates positively and professionally with all customers. Provides safe care displays appropriate judgment and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates good organizational and technical skills. Medical terminology.
