Echocardiography Sonographer, FT McLeod Cardiology Carolina Forest

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations

Job responsibilities include those listed in competencies document Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values The Sonographer greets and confirms patients, assists patient with appropriate attire for procedure, explains procedures, length and expectations along with desired results; properly positions patient for procedure and informs patient of what they may expect during actual imaging; selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure, based on body habits, pathology and body parts; processes completed images making sure they are of interpretable quality; continues to develop professionalism through continuing education programs and inservices; complies with all policies of the system with the intention of delivering the highest quality of service. Primary Responsibilities include performance of the following procedures: Adult Echocardiography, Stress/Echo tests. Additional responsibilities include maintaining work logs, working closely with physicians to ensure protocols are established and met, providing preliminary reports.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Training

Graduate of an accredited program for training for Echocardiogram Technology and licensure as required by the State of

South Carolina and other applicable credentialing and licensing authorities.
