Position Description:
Purpose
This is a newly created role that will lead the development and delivery of ELL’s flagship eCommerce programmes. You will report into the Global eCommerce Director and work closely with colleagues spanning marketing, technology, product, customer services and sales. You’ll be an experienced project manager who has already led the successful implementation of eCommerce programmes and been the linchpin of cross-functional teams.
Key Accountabilities:
Programme Management
You’ll lead the end-to-end planning and execution of e-commerce projects, co-ordinating teams across sales, marketing, product and customer services, ensuring timely delivery of workstreams within budget:
Leading the project management aspects of assigned eCommerce-related programmes, many of which will have a high profile within the wider Pearson organization. Pro-active Risk and Issues Management: owning and maintaining a risk register assigning owners and ensuring sufficient visibility of risks to the business Oversee the launch of new features, campaigns, and updates, coordinating across marketing, product, tech, and supply chain teams. Documentation of key project artefacts (e.g. PIDs, charters, specs/PDs, logs/registers, etc.) Developing, maintaining and publishing project KPIs that track project quality, delivery and predictability Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, such as payment gateways, logistics providers, and platform developers, ensuring high-quality service and alignment with project goals Act as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders, facilitating communication, addressing needs, and ensuring that all teams are aligned with the e-commerce strategy Manage and track project budgetSteering Committee
You will oversee effective Steering Committee management to ensure project success and alignment at all levels:
Design and Implement Governance Structures: Establish optimal governance and coordination frameworks to drive efficient project delivery. Create and Circulate Key Reporting: Develop regular dashboards and reports for management, providing clear insights into project progress. Steering Committee Setup: Ensure that appropriate steering committees are in place for key projects, tailored to meet project requirements. Stakeholder Onboarding: Brief new steering committee members and senior stakeholders, ensuring they are well-informed and aligned. Material Preparation and Messaging: Prepare materials for steering committee meetings, working closely with workstream leads to confirm and communicate key messages effectively.Business case development

Competencies & experience required
Functional
An expert, qualified Project Manager (e.g. PMI/PMP/PRINCE2 Practitioner, PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner) qualified, with significant, proven experience of successful project delivery (eCommerce preferred, tech / digital essential). Expert in project management software and tools; Smartsheets, MS-Excel, MS-Project, etc. Knowledgeable (or qualified) in the management of Agile, lean, techniques and methods Considerable experience in project management of £multi-million development projects with teams working in distributed world-wide locations Excellent communication skills; able to synthesise and simplify information from multiple sources Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise attention effectively across a diverse set of activities Financial literacy: able to manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, and develop financial business cases
