Economic Model Valuation Lead

The Equitable Economic Model (EEM) Valuation Lead role is responsible for managing the life and annuity valuation functions within the Equitable Economic Model (EEM) Reporting team. This role will coordinate with the consolidation and scenario generation functions to ensure valuation results are accurately reflected in the reported results. The EEM Reporting team calculates economic value, capital and a coverage ratio so management can understand the economics of business when making strategic decisions.

Duties Include, but are not limited to:

Oversee life and annuity EEM projections and testing functionCoordinate with consolidation and scenario generation functions to ensure valuation results are accurately reflected in the reported resultsManage a team of valuation modelers and other functions as neededEnsure proper controls are in place and effectively executedProvide clear and concise explanations to the evolution of results and questions that arisePrepare presentation materials for key stakeholdersIdentify future enhancements to processes and methodologyMaintain active communication with other Actuarial and Risk Management teams to stay abreast on upcoming model and assumption changes


The base salary range for this position is $135,000-$196,000 Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree

ASA Designation7 years of actuarial experienceDemonstrated leadership skills and a track record of challenging the status quoExperience with economic model and its methodology

Preferred Qualifications:

FSA Designation or near FSAUnderstanding of life insurance and annuity products, policyholder behavior and modeling of such products Established technical skills with a heightened attention to detailBest in class communication skills – both oral and writtenSelf-starter with an established sense of ownership and commitment to achieving objectives in a timely manner Exposure to leading actuarial projection systems: MG-Hedge, and GGY AXIS
