**Your job**
We’re looking for an Economic Research Director, overseeing the North American research program, based in the United States, who will join our global Hiring Lab team. You will be managing a team of economists based in the US and Canada and with their help will work to discover interesting and important insights among the massive amount of data we have on job postings, job seekers, job searches and hiring data. With the help of your team, you’ll guide and conduct research and analysis on US labor market trends and communicate your findings in a compelling way to a variety of audiences, including reporters, policymakers, and Indeed clients, in coordination with our editorial, PR, IR, GR, sales and marketing teams. This exciting role lies at the heart of Indeed’s mission to help job seekers and employers navigate the ever-changing labor market.
**The Indeed Hiring Lab is a team of economists, data scientists, and writers whose insights help drive the global labor market conversation. The Hiring Lab produces research on labor market topics using Indeed’s proprietary data and publicly available data. Our primary audiences are journalists, policymakers, and researchers, as well as employers, job seekers, and Indeed executives. The team operates within Indeed’s Marketing organization.**
**Who you are**
+ Guide the team’s North America economic research agenda and strategic direction.
+ Mentor, develop, and set the bar high for your direct reports and other members of the wider Hiring Lab team.
+ Act as a public-facing spokesperson for Indeed's research and data to media and other external audiences.
+ Deeply advise on ongoing research contributing your own ideas and guiding your team.
+ Helps develop new data products in conjunction with other economists and Hiring Lab’s data science team.
+ Serve as an Indeed spokesperson on the US labor market for media and public engagements.
+ Develop and deliver presentations on the labor market at events for a variety of audiences including other researchers, policymakers, business leaders, and the general public.
+ Work with colleagues on global research projects.
**Who we are**
+ Masters or PhD in economics or a related field with a proven professional track record and 12+ years of relevant professional experience
+ Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing teams.
+ Solid foundation of having done your own research using proprietary and public data.
+ A team player who collaborates well with other researchers and across functions and is passionate about telling data-backed stories.
+ Demonstrated sustained success at writing for and presenting to senior interested parties and non-technical audiences.
+ Authoritative knowledge ofthe USlabor market and publicly available labor market data and solid understanding of labor market theories, empirical approaches, and statistical concepts.
+ Experiencing using R, Python, or similar tools for analyzing large-scale public or proprietary data.

**Salary Range Disclaimer**
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), a Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
