ED Psych Clinician, Master's Level-Days
How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:


The ED Psych Clinician provides services to patients with mental health complaints from adolescents through advanced adulthood in an emergency department setting. Services include initial assessment, crisis, individual and group therapy. Provides psychosocial assessments, interviews, and treatments and works closely with other healthcare team members, community resources, and regulatory agencies to facilitate the transition of patients from the ED to their next continuum of care. Serves as a patient advocate.
 

Provide crisis, individual, family, and group therapy as directed. Provide therapeutic interventions aimed at adaptation throughout the continuum of care. Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients in the individual, family, and group setting. Coordinate the patient's treatment with the multidisciplinary treatment team, patient's family, referral source, and aftercare provider. Formulate, develop, and implement a comprehensive discharge plan utilizing appropriate social work interventions. Coordinate the plan with the interdisciplinary team and recommend further treatment for the patient to achieve optimal functioning. Evaluate the process at proper intervals, modify the plan as necessary, and monitor the patient's length of stay. Records patient data and observations reflective of the patient’s status in the medical chart to include the psychosocial assessment, group, family, and individual progress notes, link episode of care, and discharge plans/appointments; meets documentation standards for quality and timeliness; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age and specific needs, and provide the care needed, maintains confidentiality of patients/family's medical information in accordance with department and hospital policies and adheres to established productivity measures. Provides assessments of patients and families to identify emotional, social, and environmental strengths and problems related to their diagnosis, illness, treatment, and life situation. Ensure the plan of care promotes compliance with all applicable regulations as well as consideration of appropriate resource utilization. Advocates on behalf of the patient. Utilizes electronic programs to facilitate placements and documents in these programs to meet documentation standards. Collaborates with community agencies and resources to develop a comprehensive knowledge base of available resources for patients and families and build strong working relationships with these agencies. Maintains extensive knowledge of benefits and regulatory guidelines to maximize utilization of resources and cost-effectiveness. Educate patients and families about any issues related to adapting to the patient's illness or situation. Remain current with social work and health care developments and seek to enhance job-related knowledge further.

Shift options are Mon-Wed 7am-7pm OR Tues-Thurs 7am-7p.  We have one opening for each shift available.

What We Require:


Education: Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field is required.

Experience: One to three years of related experience is required

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Must be able to obtain AHA BLS-HCP.

Life Support: BLS required

Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills required. Must be able to complete orientation and competency validation for the position successfully. Must have crisis intervention skills, cultural competence, integrity, and courteous disposition. De-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained going forward. Excellent organizational and time management skills
