Lineal Optimized Edger Operator Wanted - SWING SHIFT !!
Starting Hourly Rate: $25.65
Humboldt Sawmill Company, LLC (HSC) is looking for an experienced Lineal Edger (Edger Optimized) Operator to join our Swing Shift Sawmill Operations team in Scotia, CA.
The Mendocino Companies (Mendocino Forest Products Company, Mendocino Redwood Company, Humboldt Redwood Company, Humboldt Sawmill Company, and Allweather Wood) own nearly 450,000 acres of Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C031337) certificated redwood and Douglas-fir timberland, constitute the largest waterborne wood treater in the Western USA, and is the largest producer of redwood lumber in the world. Additionally, the Mendocino Companies own and operate a 25-megaWatt biomass cogeneration power plant and wood pellet plant.

Maintains sawmill flow by running cants through CSG edger in a safe and productive manner and with a high level of proficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities Monitors Cant sweeps from DLI to sequencing chains and ensures cants move smoothly on transfer chains through scanner and curve saw gang.Enters cants from Headrig onto sequencing chains.Prints out daily production reports and delivers to team lead or supervisor.Monitors for cross ups on outfeed and notifies downstream operators.Reads message display for machine warnings on CSG and communicates issues including reason for stops.Ensures cants are feeding through optimizer, infeed chains and outfeed rolls properly.Regularly works closely with all operators in the system especially the DLI Operator and the Separation Operator on CSG outfeed table.Inspects and trouble shoots CSG daily.Maintains good communication with team members including maintenance, saw filers and production personnel.Assists with radio communication between other operators, maintenance, and management.Participates in team effort in work area.Keeps work area including CSG cab clean.Maintains production flow efficiency.Other duties may be assigned Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED)One year related sawmill / planer experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrated ability to operate CSG Edger safely and efficiently.
