Job Summary/Description:  

The #1 CBS affiliate in Florida's capital city has an opening for a video editor/videographer for the most-watched morning news in the region. Video is one of our top commodities, and we are looking for the right candidate to support our on-air and online efforts. This position is an important part of our team! An eye for video sequencing, shooting compelling footage, and visually telling a story are crucial to our success. This is an excellent opportunity to do meaningful work at a news station that is committed to bringing top-notch newscasts to the community.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Supports the visual mission of the newsroom by using strong sequencing and match cuts
• Edits locally acquired and feed video for multiple broadcasts
• Ingests, Processes, and Pushes feed material from local crews in the field
• Shooting footage in the field as assigned
• Operating portable live unit, and conducting live shots from the field
• Understands broadcast journalism best practices and legalities
• Helps maintain archive and logs for FCC reporting
• Share video with newsgathering partners
• Supports newscast and digital producing teams by selecting video and soundbites and writing scripts if necessary

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Non-linear editing experience
• Degree in journalism or communications
• A valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurability
