Job Summary

The Division of Hematology/Oncology the Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a highly competent, motivated and organized individual to serve as a full-time GME Program Administrator Associate. This position will report directly to the Senior GME Administrator.   Candidates for this position are expected to exhibit strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a complex organization.   The Hematology/Oncology Fellowship is a three-year program, recruiting 7 trainees per year for a total of 21 trainees.  Hematology/Oncology offers competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and boasts a culture of acceptance, openness, flexibility, and teamwork. Must possess the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines with a strong attention to details.

Activities include, but are not limited to:

Provide back up support to the GME AdministratorProvide administrative support to 1 Program Director and 2 Assistant Program Directors which consists of calendaring, meeting scheduling, coordinating GME activities, processing reimbursements and event planning related to program needs for the Program DirectorLiaison between Program Director and residents/fellows and program senior administratorCoordination of two weekly conferences to include CME support (creation and communication of meeting details), set up of A/V equipment, ordering food Approves and tracks time off for vacations, sick days, conference timeAssist the Administrator with scheduling, attending and taking minutes for the ACGME required Program Evaluation Committee and (PEC) and Clinical Competency Committee (CCC)Support the educational needs of the program by being the main contact for scheduling learners including resident and medical student scheduling and fellowship specialty clinics schedules.  Support residents/fellows with travel needs and reimbursements for business related expensesAssists with biweekly and quarterly trainee evaluations completed in MedHub (UMs residency management system)Other duties as assigned

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
