The Ambulatory Education Specialist delivers essential training and education to Loyola staff across multiple departments, including Ambulatory, Admitting, Inpatient, and Revenue Cycle areas. You’ll play a critical role in enhancing workflows, supporting EPIC system use, and optimizing the organization’s revenue cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver training programs for staff on EPIC Cadence, Prelude, and IDX/RIS applications.Coordinate training schedules for clinical and administrative roles.Create training materials such as workflows, manuals, and tip sheets.Provide on-site support during EPIC go-live phases and troubleshoot issues.Act as a resource for insurance registration and Cadence system inquiries.Continuously improve training methods based on feedback and industry trends.

By fulfilling these responsibilities and meeting the qualifications, an EPIC Systems Ambulatory and Training Trainer significantly contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare operations, ultimately enhancing patient care and organizational performance.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or Education) is typically required.Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Minimum Experience:

Minimum of 1-3 years in healthcare IT, specifically with EPIC systems, is often preferred.Experience in training roles, particularly in a clinical or healthcare setting, is highly beneficial.

Licensure/Certifications:

EPIC certification as a trainer in relevant modules (e.g., Ambulatory) is essential.Additional certifications in instructional design or adult education can enhance qualifications.Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.Proficiency in analytical thinking to assess training effectiveness and user performance.Ability to create engaging training materials and utilize various teaching methods, including in-person and virtual formats.Technical Proficiency:Familiarity with EPIC software and its functionalities, as well as general IT skills to navigate and troubleshoot systems.
