ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Complete all data for education department on admission including education admission note. Consult with public school district as needed concerning student’s history and educational information. Complete all comprehensive assessments in a timely manner ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Complete all behavior logs for all students eligible for EmD ruling. Participate in all relevant IEP meetings. Send out justification reports on all school-placed students yearly. Complete Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) education evaluations. Complete achievement tests if necessary. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field providing diagnostic and evaluation of Special Education needs required. Two or more years’ experience in area of child/adolescent residential treatment or teaching experience in the special education field required.LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid teaching certificate in the area of Special Education or equivalent experience in the diagnostic and evaluation process areas of Special Education CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility.
