Located on our historic campus in Towson, Maryland, Sheppard Pratt School and Residential Treatment Center (RTC) is a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved, level V nonpublic school. We offer a year-round therapeutic educational and residential program catering to youths ages 12-18 with emotional and behavioral challenges. Our comprehensive program offers structured community and recreational activities alongside full-day special and general education schooling.
What to expect.
You will oversee the educational programming at Sheppard Pratt School, shaping the academic curriculum, implementing effective teaching strategies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Specific responsibilities include:
Collaborating with other school leaders to create a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student success and well-being. Implementing educational programming and behavior management system, ensuring alignment with state standards and best practices in special education. Overseeing the recruitment and performance measures of teachers and staff, ensuring professional development opportunities and performance evaluation. Monitoring student performance data to inform instructional decision-making and program improvement efforts.

What we need from you.
Master’s degree in a related field of study and 30 semester hours in special education and administration. Must possess MSDE Advanced Professional License (APL) in special education. Must possess MSDE Administrator I license. Three years of teaching experience.
