This position will join our team in developing online professional learning opportunities for teachers and other adult learners and creating standards-aligned classroom resources to accompany children’s programming. Prior experience using an online learning management system is preferred, as well as experience creating classroom resources aligned with academic standards. This position works collaboratively with colleagues and subject matter experts to create, refine, and provide high-quality learning experiences and curriculum materials for the educational initiatives at Arkansas PBS. Key Responsibilities + Working on a collaborative team to create professional development for Arkansas teachers + Collaborates with Arkansas Department of Education personnel, video production staff, IT personnel, and subject matter experts during stages of course creation as needed + Assists team members in the course creation process by participating in peer review + Assists in the maintenance and upkeep of available courses and the learning management system + Accepts and provides feedback within iterative publishing processes + Collaborative creation of curriculum materials and classroom resources to accompany children’s programming + Ensures all resources created are aligned with appropriate Arkansas Academic Standards, are of high quality, and are published according to scheduled deadlines + Accepts and provides feedback within iterative publishing processes This position demands a positive and constructive view of working with others. Minimum Qualifications The formal equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in education, special education, or a related field Three years of experience in a related educational or program field Preferred Qualifications Teacher Certification (current or prior) Experience utilizing Totara, Moodle, or other learning management systems effectively Position Information Class Code: E026C Grade: GS08 FLSA Status: EXEMPT Salary Range: $45,010.00 - $71,792.00 Summary The Education and Instruction Coordinator is responsible for coordinating education and instruction activities and/or programs. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Functions Coordinates and conducts education and training improvements to comply with federal and state laws and regulations. Provides technical assistance concerning improvement activities and federal funding. Conducts training/workshops and professional conferences. Analyzes, interprets, and applies state and federal laws, rules and regulations, as related to licensure, and develops reports. Reviews and analyzes current practices and procedures and develops new policies and procedures. Participates in advisory group meetings and workshops. Coordinates special projects as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Dimensions None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding licensure. Knowledge of educational/training program development and presentation techniques. Knowledge of teaching principles and methods. Ability to research, develop, evaluate, and revise educational/training programs. Ability to coordinate and conduct educational/training programs. Ability to prepare reports and maintain records. Ability to review and analyze applications and supporting documentation. Ability to present ideas and information to large and diverse groups. Minimum Qualifications The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in education, business administration or a related field; plus three years of educational program experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
