OVERVIEW:
As the Education Manager, you'll be at the heart of our mission to inspire wonder and curiosity in students while providing critical support and hope to families. You'll oversee the education and social services department, manage key funding sources and grants, develop innovative curricula, and create transformative programs that ignite learning and growth for children and families in our community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the education and social services department Participate in strategic planning, development, community outreach Develop key relationships with partner schools, organizations, volunteers, and other supporters Oversee hiring and staffing needs for the education department Attend training and create plans for implementing best practices in the department Oversee curriculum and instruction to achieve department outcomes Oversee city grant administration, billing, and data Prepare all required documentation and files for annual grant audits Apply to additional grant opportunities for the development of the education department Assist DHQ Grant Writer with all education-related grants Develop and implement regular training and support for volunteers and staff Develop the yearly calendar and key events for all family and youth programs and services Oversee reports and surveys Assist DHQ Grant Writer with all education-related grants Create, maintain, and adjust the annual budget for the department Oversee the education department contracts Collaborate with other departments Ensure departments’ compliances Other related duties as requiredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required) CA driver’s license (preferred) Master's degree (preferred) Experience leading a team in an academic setting (preferred) Experience developing programs and curricula Experience in teaching, leading, and mentoring youthSKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Arabic (preferred) Knowledge of SFUSD, DCYF, and/or other youth and family-centered agencies Excellent communication skills Ability to lead Ability to multi-taskPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
