Education Specialist
Overview

The Education Specialist works in collaboration with the Life Support Supervisor and the Center for Clinical Practice to provide the delivery of Life Support education and coordination. In addition, the education specialist provides support to the clinical education teams at local sites as required by divisional needs including coordination of special projects and supporting education initiatives and priorities. Coordinates the activities of the Resources for Clinical Practice in areas of common interest and involvement.


Responsibilities

1. Coordinates and teaches life support classes for Division


2. Serves as training site coordinator for CHI Health, abiding by the regulations required by the American Heart Association


3. Utilizes effective teaching methods, individualizing them to all levels of staff.


4. Actively seeks out evidence based practice and findings and applies to clinical excellence and education.


5. Manages the day-to-day operations of the simulation lab and skills training areas including but not limited to
lab/simulation set-up, equipment maintenance, and inventory activities.


■ In cooperation with the Simulation Lab Director coordinates workflow between faculty and courses to schedule
and communicate lab space availability to faculty and course leads.
■ Maintains compliance with regulatory guidelines (including those associated with OSHA/MOSHA)
■ Conducts student and family tours, as requested providing information about the Simulation/lab space and programs.


6. Provides support to initiatives and projects of the Center for Clinical Practice, performing teaching, administrative
duties, and support as necessary


7. Other duties as assigned by management


Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years experience or Bachelor's degree

Hold a Nebraska license as a Paramedic

BLS required, ACLS/PALS required within 6 months of hire. BLS, PALS; ACLS Instructor required within 6 months of hire
