Position: Education Specialist
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Model and uphold all Agency rules. Identify and develop curricula suitable for after-school and summer programs. Curricula should be thematic and provide youth with sequential, common core learning standards-aligned learning experiences. Work with the Center Director to oversee the implementation of program activities. Assist center staff with effective delivery of lessons. Using data collected by PAL’s Evaluator, staff reports and schools’ input, foster continuous quality improvement of curricula and activities. Develop and maintain a relationship with the principal and designated school staff. Ensure PAL and school goals and needs are reflected in PAL programming. Provide training to Group Leaders, Teachers, and Activity Specialists. Assist in planning and facilitating center Parent Workshops. Present ideas and suggestions for improving programs as often as possible. When presenting a problem or offering constructive criticism, also offer an alternative solution.Additional Responsibilities
Submit weekly, monthly, written and verbal reports as requested. When directed, attend meetings with Education Department, center stakeholders, as needed to assist in program delivery and promotion of programs. Assist in the planning, set up and clean up for PAL special events.
