**27925BR** **Job Title:** Education Studies Intern **Location:** MD - Rockville **Job Description:** Westat’s 11-week summer internship experiences will be hybrid at one of our U.S. office locations. Our interns can expect to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The program will begin on Monday, June 2, 2025, and end by August 15, 2025. During the summer internship program, you will be assigned a project deliverable and will present during the final week of the program. You will also attend educational programs and networking events. A hybrid work arrangement with 1-2 days onsite at a Westat office is preferred. This is a U.S. based position; pay rate for this role is $25/hr. **Job Summary:** Our internship will introduce you to the start-up process on a multi-million-dollar Federal program providing technical assistance services at the state education agency level. We will also introduce you to a tool we use called the Project Success Framework as well as performance management process in Technical Assistance projects. **Job Responsibilities:** Westat manages the Region 9 Comprehensive Center which is a federally funded technical assistance center. We work with state education agencies in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas to improve outcomes for all students. We’re looking for students who possess an interest in education policy. We are also looking for a team member who can work independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team; meet deadlines and proactively update teams on progress through project management software, regular project status meetings and email. + Support activities to understand stakeholder needs and identify evidence-based practices to implement solutions to meet the needs. + Support the development of data collection instruments, survey administration, interviews and focus groups, data synthesis and analysis, writing reports, literature reviews, data visualization, and other tasks as required. + Produce presentations and supporting materials for a variety of audiences. + Support the communication and evaluation teams with project information needed to share our project stories of impact. **Basic Qualifications:** + Currently pursuing a master’s in education studies or related field. + Experience collaborating with state/district operation teams to understand key success metrics and translate them into actionable insights. + Experience with identifying and analyzing business processes to determine methods for improvement. + Experience with research and summarizing trends in education policy to support strategic planning. + Demonstrated experience with MS Office Applications. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Proficiency with Project Management Software (for example: Smartsheet, Trello or other similar platforms). + Experience coordinating or supporting requirements gathering, project workflows, schedules, or deliverables. + Familiarity with educational data systems, learning management platforms, or education-focused IT solutions. + Experience tracking and reporting progress on projects and maintaining accuracy. + Interest in topics such as K-12 education, school improvement, literacy, the use of technology to scale innovations. **Other Required Qualifications:** • Demonstrated communication skills. • Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients. • Organization skills, including time management ability. • Detail oriented.
