About this position

This Educator position is primarily responsible for air medical and critical care Ambulance Services education and training. The Educator is an education and training expert in activities designed to develop or maintain team member competence in assigned areas. The activities include orientation and ongoing staff development and may include education and training related to the care of neonates, infants, pediatrics, young adults, adults, and older adults. Interacts with a diverse workforce and uses educational techniques with sensitivity to cultural, age and gender diversity. Collaborates with management and assigned resources within areas providing direct customer care. Acts as a liaison between the Education Department and the services being supported.

Variation of duties may result based on the areas being supported. This may include differences in specific qualifications for the educator. For example, support in the critical care areas will require an RN with critical care clinical experience, and support in medical transportation will require EMT or paramedic clinical experience.

Requirements

Education

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing or allied health field preferred (dependent on assigned areas).
• Master's degree or additional education or healthcare related course work is preferred.   

Experience

Experience
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an acute care setting or related relevant education.
• Air Medical experience as a flight nurse is preferred.
• Demonstrated education skills including curriculum/program design, facilitation skills, and project management abilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Education or experience in curriculum design, program development, instruction and adult learning principles required.
• Experience in accessing and using technology to support education processes.  

Licensure/Certification

• Depending on area of practice - Current MN Registered Nurse Licensure or EMT-B or EMPT-P
• Candidate has 12 months to acquire Certified Flight Registered Nurse certification (CFRN), if not already obtained
