Educator Diabetes Services - PRN
Job Description

Perform professional nursing consultation, and education for patients on the necessary lifestyle changes involved in a diabetes diagnosis, including nutrition, medication, physical activity and glucose testing. Develop current curriculum on health for diabetic patients and provide that information to patients. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics is required. Master's degree preferred. 2 - 3 years of experience in Nursing or Dietetics, specific to diabetes self management training and principles, Public Health or Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics preferred.  1-2 years experience as health professional staff member of an ADA. Currently licensed in the State of Alabama and certified as a Diabetes Educator.

Frequently exposed to blood and/or body fluids or potentially infective materials. Requires constant hearing, speaking, vision and repetitive hand movement. Requires attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
