The Laboratories of IU Health offer some of the most comprehensive laboratory services in Indiana! Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the laboratories perform more than 19 million tests a year. In addition to IU Health, laboratory testing services are provided to hospitals and physicians across the country.
Instructor position is available in our hospital-based NAACLS-accredited MLS program. The program is supported by the employees within the IU Health Pathology Laboratory and the entire health system's laboratories.
The Educator - Medical Laboratory Scientist plans, develops, facilitates, implements, and evaluates education in the IU Health Medical Laboratory Science Program. The Educator will also assist in the development and implementation of student performance standards, student admissions and selection process, and program accreditation activities. Ensures that education in the program is properly coordinated, and that all students receive adequate instruction and experience. The Educator will further assist in developing promotional materials for internal and/or external publicity.

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Requires current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathologists-Board of Certification (ASCPBOC). Requires specialist certification in a designated area of expertise within medical laboratory science by the American Society for Clinical PathologistsBoard of Certification (ASCP-BOC). Requires knowledge of adult education principles and applications. Requires ability to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum and training resources. Requires knowledge of computer software applications Requires the ability to assess and diagnose learner needs. Requires 3-5 years of experience, 2 years of medical laboratory science experience or equivalent, and 2 years of medical laboratory science teaching experience or equivalent; teaching experience as faculty in a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NACCLS) accredited Medical Laboratory Science Program or the equivalent preferredAs Indiana’s largest and most comprehensive healthcare system, and the number 1 ranked healthcare system in Indiana, we offer:
