Educator Unit Based - PRN
Job Description

The Unit based Educator is a competent, registered nurse professional or EMT who delivers training and education to employees utlizing the nursing process. They provide education through a verity of methods, to included but not limited to; bedside training, in-services, classroom presentations, and lectures. 

• Effectively creates a learning culture based on Magnet foundational elements
• Uses assessment and evaluation strategies in education and participates in curriculum design and functions as change agent, leader, and educator.
• Ensures quality of service that meets MVRMC and CHS standards
• Builds and enhances key customer relationships (internal and external)
• Develops and maintains databases, analyzes data trends
• Development of strategic plans in alignment with MVRMC overall organizational goals.Education:

RN Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing

• Technical diploma, Required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing, Preferred.

Experience:

• Demonstration of effective leadership skills required
• Computer knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Has conducted education programs, courses, and inservices
• Demonstrates skills in written and verbal communication, conflict resolution and human relations
• Exhibits a team approach
• Demonstrates knowledge of fiscal, general healthcare issues, trends, quality management and legal aspects of healthcare

Licenses/Certificates:

• Current licensure in professional nursing from the New Mexico State Board of Nursing or compact RN license or EMT License
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after one (1) full month of work
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after three (3) full months of work.
• Current BLS Instructor - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after three (3) full months of work.
• Current ACLS Instructor - Due by close of business on the last day of the month after three (3) full months of work.
