Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Performs diagnostic EEG, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings of the brain or central nervous system for patients as ordered by a physician, and in accordance with established protocols, standards and practices. Work includes but is not limited to; 1) patient preparation to include providing a safe testing environment for the patient, 2) performance of, observation and documentation of  EEG results, and 3) monitors and checks equipment for possible changes/adjustments as necessary during the study.

Work is performed under the direct supervision of the licensed health care provider and requires thorough knowledge of the function and safe operation of equipment used to perform Electroencephalograph tests.

Incumbents are also accountable for maintaining their skills and knowledge related to job function by participating in conferences, technical meetings, and other educational activities and participating in departmental quality assurance programs within the scope of hospital-wide program.

Essential Job Duties:

Performs and records EEG procedures under direct supervision of a licensed health care provider.Prepares the EEG record for analysis and interpretation. Completes all required documentation in accordance with department protocol. Maintains laboratory with supplies and keeps equipment in clean operating condition. 
Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

Two years of work experience in a medical field.  Graduation from an accredited neurophysiologic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and/or Registry in an Electroneurodiagnostics (END) discipline is preferred. 

Licensure/Certification:

Registered EEG/EP preferredCurrent American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.  This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
