The EEG Technologist performs prescribed electroencephalogram tests, with the knowledge and ability to collect, assess, interpret, and intervene as appropriate in care of pediatric, adult, geriatric, and critical care patients. This position may also serve as a clinical resource to Neurology.

What you will do as an Non-Registered EEG Technologist:

Prepares patients and equipment for EEG procedureOperate equipment to record electrical activity of the brain during the procedureMonitors patient respiration, heart, and brain activity during procedureRecords evoked responses from patientPrepare readings for interpretation by a Physician, including annotating and identification of EEG activityPerforms standard and complex eletroencephalographic recordings and evoked potentials in a manner consistent with the standards of care, objectives, and procedures of the EEG Laboratory and Epilepsy Monitoring UnitAssures availability and proper function of supplies and equipmentAssembles and adjusts equipmentCleans, replenishes, and maintains instruments and supplies as neededParticipates in the evaluation of new equipment or suppliesAssists other members of the team with cleaning of procedure room and preparation for patientAdheres to standards of clinical practice and patient care appropriate to the age and state of the patientCollaborates with the Physician and other staffRespects confidentiality of all information in compliance with HIPPA standardsDemonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served

What you will need:

Graduate of an Accredited EEG or Polysomnography training program (EEG Pathway 1) or Associates degree with 1 year of experience (EEG Pathway 3) with documented proficiency working towards R. EEG T. BLS Certification. Required:  R EEG Technologist within 2 years of employment

Location: UMMC, East Bank - 500 SE Harvard St. Minneapolis, MN 55414

Additional Locations: UMMC, Children's - 2450 Riverside Ave Minneapolis, MN 55454

Hours: 0.75 FTE (30 hours/week) - 3 x 10 hour days (11:30 AM – 10:00 PM), weekday and weekend shifts available
