EFTP Nurse | Tube Placement | Variable | Part Time
Overview The Enteral Feeding Tube Placement Nurse (EFTP) ensures coordination and continuity of patient care for patients sixteen years of age or older that require placement of a small bore feeding tube (SBFT) for nutritional support utilizing the electromagnetic placement device. The EFTP nurse provides for a safe tube placement, accepts responsibility for identifying and communicating the patient's alterations in health and anticipate outcomes for patients at risk for complications. The EFTP nurse provides clinical management including patient/family education, consultation, and education related to assigned patient population to nursing staff and other health care providers in order to achieve desired patient outcomes. Must demonstrate ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the information needed to identify each patient's requirements, according to protocols and within practice of nursing. The EFTP nurse provides clinical support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision for setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy, education and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Current RN license in state of Florida. BSN preferred. BSN required within three years of hire for all nurses hired after April 30, 2014. Professional nursing board certification in specialty area preferred. Specialty certification required within two years of specialty experience at UF Health Shands or certification eligibility date for all nurses hired after June 30, 2011. Minimum of 3 years of professional nursing practice in the ICU setting required. Demonstrates both leadership and clinical skills in applicable patient populations. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
