Job Title: EH&S Manager
Job Description

This position leads the integration of solutions that address multiple regulatory requirements and certifying agencies, ensuring compliance with rules affecting safety, security, hazardous waste, medical equipment, fire/life safety, and utilities. Key responsibilities include managing a team to ensure daily regulatory compliance, performing regular performance assessments, managing compliance audits, maintaining effective recordkeeping, coordinating leadership reporting, and serving as the Laser Safety Officer and SHC Hospital Safety Officer.

ResponsibilitiesConduct TJC EOC/Life Safety regulatory compliance program for SHC, LPCH, and Clinics.Lead survey activity audits and serve as the hospital interface for The Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care (EOC) interviews and reviews.Coordinate continuous preparation for all TJC EOC regulatory compliance activities.Chair the EOC Safety Committee, generating quarterly reports, annual evaluations, and management plans.Conduct TJC EOC Periodic Performance Reviews.Coordinate EOC meeting agendas, minutes, and logistics monthly.Maintain EOC documentation and records.Coordinate EOC Safety Manual Policies and Procedures.Develop hospital-wide Safety Plans, analyze risks, address incidents, and develop mitigation strategies, including those for Life Safety.Manage the Hazardous & Medical Waste and Waste Water & Storm Drain programs, including policy, program, and regulatory/compliance audits.Manage the Life/Fire Safety Program, including emergency evacuation programs, equipment, regulatory/compliance audits, and training.Be on-call during non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs and respond to emergencies as necessary.Essential SkillsEnvironmental healthHealth & safetyFire life safetyEnvironment of carePermittingConstruction safetyHazardous wasteOSHA complianceChemical hygiene planChemical hygieneIndustrial hygieneEnvironmental complianceSafety proceduresSafety trainingAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or universityFive years of progressively responsible and directly related work experienceDOT Hazmat Certification or OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Certification or CEAS Certification or RCRA Hazardous Waste TrainingOSHA HazwoperOSHA 30-hour Construction TrainingWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

This role is based in an office within a healthcare environment, approximately five miles from the hospital. The position involves traveling to both hospitals and assisting with offsite clinics. The team size ranges from 25-35 employees, and the dress code is business formal. Start times can be at 6:30am, 7:00am, or 7:30am. This position is in-office only.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menlo Park, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00
