Job Summary

The Dupont Company has an opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Site Manager at the MiOps site in the Midland, MI area. This site hosts operations from M&M Corporate, Electronics & Imaging and Water & Protection Businesses. The MiOps EHS Manager will provide leadership, technical support, policy, program auditing, oversight, and strategy development for site EHS programs and initiatives.  The EHS Site Manager reports to the Plant Leader and is a key member of a Site Leadership Team, providing guidance and strategic support to the Unit Mangers and Unit EHS resources.   This role is responsible to support the line organization in maintaining compliance with applicable Site, Corporate, State and Federal safety and environmental regulations and requirements. This role is accountable for Safety, OH, Environmental, Security, Fire and PSM competencies.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Ensures EHS work processes, standards and procedures are applied within the Units through role assignment, training and leveraging with the Expertise Centers.

Provides Leadership Team with observations, trends, and improvement recommendations on facility safety performance and employee health.

Liaises with the Expertise Centers and obtains clear interpretations of issues to ensure compliance to standards and consistency across the Company, and to determine the applicability of regulatory requirements for the Site.

Coordinates 2nd party audits schedule and execution (PSM, SHE, Fire, Electrical, etc.). Develops and implements plans to resolve any audit findings for PSM, S&OH, Fire, Distribution and Environmental assessments.   

Supports injury and illness recordkeeping and case management process; maintains relevant logs and documentation.

Effective and proactive implementation of DuPont standards and initiatives

Participates in field auditing and visibility for interactions with employees.

Provides oversight for Unit driven PSM Programs.

Ensure effective operation of Unit Driven Safety teams

Ensures capital plans include EHS improvements directed to reduce/eliminate risk injury and ensure regulatory across the site and in the Units. 

Provide supervisory guidance and development to all EHS resources to ensure technical/functional and operating skills are effective.

Develop an annual EHS Site Continuous Improvement Plan and drive EHS continuous improvement activities.

Implement, update, and maintain site EHS managing processes and procedures. 

Ensure that the site has a strong Community liaison with the Community Advisory Panel (CAP) and/or other community groups.

Education & Experience

Required:

BS or higher degree in a technical/scientific field (Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene, or safety-related discipline)

10+ years’ experience working at a manufacturing environment in an EHS capacity with working knowledge of EHS and Process Safety Management Systems.

Demonstrated functional/technical expertise of federal regulations (OSHA and EPA)

Strength in organizing, implementing, organizing and affecting comprehensive change

Must excel in communicating ideas and changes clearly to influence change effectively

Preferred:

Certified Safety, Certified Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Professional

Demonstrated knowledge of industrial hygiene general principles

Experience working with NFPA and DOT regulations  

Experience working with a unionized workforce

More than 10 years of professional experience in EHS

Previous supervisory experience
