We have an opportunity for an energetic, motivated, and self-directed Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager to support our ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts at the Forest, MS site. This site offers the EH&S professional an opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to foster employee engagement and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program. 

What You Will Do 

Recognize, evaluate, and control hazardous workplace conditions.

Take proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors.

Lead and develop a small team of EHS subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements.

Execute initiatives, programs, reports, and training across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance.

Prepare and manage documentation relating to safety and environmental policies in preparation for audits

Provides proper documentation in preparation for permits and liaising with governmental bodies

Maintains EH&S Management System Conformance

Achieves and maintains consistency of EH&S record keeping and documentation with organizational and regulatory policy

Audit and evaluate current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Investigate, analyze, and interpret data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place.

Interact with employees of all levels, promote relationships, learn the tasks employees perform and be known as a resource to the employees at the site. Work toward building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs.

Contribute to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement.

Support the site’s environmental compliance programs, including, but not limited to, hazardous waste management, stormwater and ground-water protection plans, air quality permitting, wastewater, and toxic chemical reporting.

Develop and implement sustainability practices and programs related to waste, water, and greenhouse gases in alignment with our long-term goals.

Identify environmental risk and complete due diligence; investigate root cause for environmental incidents.

Qualifications You Must Have 

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. 

Minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.

Experience with identification and mitigation of EH&S hazards.

Knowledge and the application of the principals of regulatory requirements.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 

Qualifications We Prefer

Strong presentation skills

Project management and execution skills

Previous experience working at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site.

Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.).

Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-pace environment and demonstrate effective prioritization and implementation skills.

Ability to provide clear, concise, and effective verbal communications.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Clearance Information: This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
