Job Description
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and conformance to ISO standards. Proactively take ownership of any EHS-related issues, concerns, improvements, and program development across the organization. Assist in evaluating new manufacturing processes and technologies and make recommendations on employee safety, potential environmental requirements, and applicable building impacts. Partner with functional areas to implement methods, programs, controls, and safeguards which promote a safe work environment.
ResponsibilitiesLead, support, and manage the implementation of EHS programs (e.g., lockout/tag-out, electrical safety, ergonomics, respiratory protection, industrial hygiene, contractor safety, inspections, risk assessments).Provide technical expertise and guidance to solve EHS-related challenges and reduce risk during activities such as handling chemicals and hazardous waste, working with electrical equipment, and working in confined spaces.Partner with business groups to engage all employees in safety and sustainability programs.Perform EHS assessments for new processes and equipment that include risk assessments, confined space, lockout/tagout, ergonomics, and machine guarding.Lead and manage EHS risk assessments for all parts of the business.Promote, reinforce, and sustain a strong safety culture through engagement with leadership and operational teams.Chair site Safety Committee, Emergency Response Team, and Operational Excellence activities.Investigate hazards, near misses, and incidents with the goal of finding root causes and implementing ways to prevent recurrence.Lead in-house emergency response activities (incident command, equipment, training, drills).Interface with regulatory agencies on assigned EHS matters.Essential SkillsCompliance with local, state, and federal regulationsExcellent communication skillsPrevious experience in a manufacturing environmentOSHA 30Environmental complianceHazardous waste managementSafety program implementationEH&S proceduresSafety trainingISO standardsInspectionManufacturing environmentEnvironmental safetyAdditional Skills & QualificationsDOT CertificationTitle 22OSHA 30ISO certificationHazwopper certificationBachelor’s degree in a related field2+ years of experience within an EH&S roleExperience in a manufacturing and controlled environment room (CER) a plusWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Work within a team of 5 in an office space environment located in one of our four buildings. The company operates in a medical device manufacturing environment with various clean rooms. Standard working hours are from 8 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
