Job Description

Teledyne Imaging Sensors is an integral member of the Digital Imaging Segment of Teledyne Technologies. Imaging Sensors provides advanced imaging solutions for a variety of customers, including the DoD, NASA, prime system integrators, and commercial customers. In the civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground based telescopes. In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target identification, among others.
The EH&S Technician supports the TS&I Environmental, Health & Safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state & local regulations and internal policies & procedures. The position is based at our Camarillo, California facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
Conducts lab and work area audits, drafts audit reports and follows up on corrective actions
Conducts audits/reviews and evaluates compliance with environmental programs (i.e. air issues, solid and hazardous waste management, and water quality)
Supports compliance with EH&S regulations and adherence with the TS&I Environmental Management System (EMS), Health & Safety Management System (HSMS), policies, procedures, permits, reports, incident investigations, audits, inspections, documentation, calendars and other requirements
Supports EH&S programs within TS&I to support the customers, administrative and operations staff, Corporate EH&S and regulatory agencies
Maintain hazardous waste program including: sampling, evaluating & categorizing chemical characteristics, transferring throughout the site, bulking, profiling, labeling, marking, handling, manifesting, managing containers, completing required documentation, remove waste from satellite areas, wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) responding to spills and incidents, conducting audits of hazardous waste accumulation areas & containers
Supports responses to emergencies (medical or chemical) and evacuations as an EH&S and Emergency Response team member
Support EH&S activities after hours
Conduct monthly safety team meetings, along with new hire orientation with fellow peers
Updates internal publications including lab lists, contact lists, signage, etc.
Maintain chemical inventory, order chemicals as necessary for cleanroom process
Maintain inventory for EH&S supplies
Respond to site emergencies when necessary
Coordinate vendor visits
Ability to drive between the TS&I sites in Thousand Oaks and Camarillo
Qualifications & Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:
Ability to research regulations applicable to site operations
Knowledge of Chemistry and Physics is desirable
Ability to identify and evaluate occupational exposures to harmful substances and make recommendations to the supervisor for control or elimination of hazards
Ability to acquire and maintain necessary training and certifications
Must have a valid California Driver’s License
Capability to apply comprehensive knowledge to the completion of complex assignments and can directly contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques
Ability to wear required PPE as needed including respirators, SCBAs, steel toe boots, etc. and to be medically qualified
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management, employees and customers
Advanced computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), Lotus Notes and Share Point
Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices
Education and/or Experience
Associates Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, or Health & Safety) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Possesses or ability to obtain all necessary certifications relating to hazardous material handling, HAZWOPER, and DOT operations
Experience with EH&S with at least one (1) year of working with an industrial, manufacturing or research and development facility in the state of California preferred
Other Qualifications:
Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.

Salary Range:
$49,830.00-$66,550.000Pay Transparency
The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
