We are seeking a diligent and proactive Health and Safety Advisor to join our team for a civil infrastructure construction project in Montreal to work the overnight shift. The ideal candidate will hold a Prevention Agent Card (COSS) and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety on site.

 

What You’ll Do Here:

Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Create, implement, and manage health and safety strategies and policies tailored to the construction site Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures to mitigate risks Apply rules as per Construction safety code Training and Education: Provide training and education to staff on health and safety protocols and best practices Safety Inspections and Audits: Regularly inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation and standards Reporting: Prepare and present reports on health and safety activities to senior management Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills

 

What You Bring to the Team:

Prevention Agent Card (COSS): Mandatory Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in civil infrastructure construction Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to train and influence others Attention to Detail: Meticulous in identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance Proactive: Takes initiative to improve safety standards and practices Team Player: Works collaboratively with all team members to promote a safe working environment
