About the Role

The EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) and Security Manager is responsible for all team members’ safety, security and well-being through using the company policies and procedures and the Magna Employee’s Charter as a guideline. Provides guidance and support to BGM by helping facilitate successful implementation of company objectives and goals as well as meeting or exceeding legislative and Employee Charter requirements through the various EHS programs and initiatives. Through these programs and initiatives the EHS Manager will work proactively and reactively to help maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Your Responsibilities Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Health, Safety, Environmental and security policies. Routinely make visual inspections of emergency evacuations routes correcting any safety concerns immediately Conduct unplanned inspection audits on a weekly basis and planned inspection audits once a month Leads facility security coordinator in managing security process to include developing site security practices and policies. Work hand in hand with the medical staff on all workplace injuries, work comp, and all other investigations as needed. Within 24 hours of an accident/incident complete accident investigations identifying root cause and corrective action Immediately attend to all accidents and injuries and initiate the accident and injury investigation program while following up to ensure procedure implementation and completion. Follow and comply with all operational procedures/ policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs. Ensure weekly safety talks in pre-shift meetings are being conducted with team members signing a safety training roster. Perform company EHS & Ergonomics training initiatives by helping identify training needs, designing curriculum, identifying facilitators, and facilitating courses as needed-Including New Hire Orientation Ensure BGM’s compliance with all Federal, State, Local and other applicable regulations.  Design and facilitate training on such compliance issues with Team Members and BGM leadership by using internal or external resources as may be necessary. Ensure compliance with all Magna Corporate environmental standards. Maintain HSELinx action plans for environmental open issues, environmental document database and ergonomic assessment criteria on a quarterly basis. Updating and maintaining the OSHA logs Establish and maintain the requirements of the EHS Corporate Audits and ISO 14001 and 45001 audits. Uphold the Employee Opinion Survey process and identify action to improve the score whereby creating a better place to work for all team members. Identify and address opportunities to minimize the financial impacts of Workers’ Comp. Create a Waste Minimization and Reduction plan. Program development to comply with all Storm Water Regulations Create a Spill Contingency Plan and submit to the appropriate authorities. Assist with all EPA and OSHA Inspections for the BGM Facility Maintain all necessary records and submittals to the Local, State, and Federal regulatory bodies on Air, Water Discharge, and Storm Water permits. Inspect and approve all MSDS sheets prior to products being brought into the facility. Assist with JHSC & Ergonomic meetings on a monthly basis area of the Magna Health and Safety Audit. Establish and maintain effective communications with all other departments as well as conduct all business activities in a professional manner. Promote Continuous Improvement and capitalize cost reduction opportunities. Designated as BGM’s Environmental Management System Representative

Who we are looking for

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or GED OSHA Certifications Storm Water, Air Permitting, Haz Waste, etc certifications. Accident investigations, incident reporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Ability to operate standard office equipment preferred.
  Your preferred qualifications First Aid and First Responder preferred Post-secondary education preferred in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Sciences or equivalent experience.  5-10 years of experience Minimum of 3–5-year experience in a manufacturing environment What we offer
