EHS Coordinator

 

Under the direction of the Health and Safety Manager, the primary responsibilities of the EHS Coordinator are to foster a safe workplace environment by advancing environmental, health and safety performance improvements in support of regulatory requirements and Linamar policies. 

 

Performance Expectations

·       Incident reporting, investigation review and follow-up

·       Develop corrective and preventative actions

·       Worker’s compensation entry, tracking and review

·       Perform and analyze work cells and generate/update Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) documents

·        Identify, further develop, and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee’s awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely

·       Ensure safety guidelines, procedures and policies are followed

·       Conduct facility inspections and audits

·       Assist with conducting onsite drills (Fire, Spill, Severe Weather)

·       Conduct reviews and evaluation of new and modified equipment

·        Assist in the review and updating of EHS policies and procedures

·       Assist in ensuring proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is available to personnel

·       Assist in documentation requirements per OSHA and other ISO programs

·       Assist in developing and maintaining an onsite chemical management program to remain compliant with OSHA/NCDEQ requirements

·       Monitor and remain up-to-date on regulatory requirements (EPA, OSHA, NC Dept. of Labor)

·       Assist in industrial hygiene sampling

·       Assist in monthly data collection for corporate reporting

·       Assist in developing/launching site safety committees

·       Assist in environmental permitting and surveillance activities

·       Assist in conducting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits 

 

Credentials

·       Completion of post-secondary education in the field of occupational health and safety or a related discipline, Bachelor’s degree, or 2 years of experience, or equivalent manufacturing experience.

·       Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 19649 and OHSA CFR 1910

 

Desired Characteristics

·       Extensive knowledge and application of environmental health and safety legislation and industry standards.

·       Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

·       Ability to understand Workers’ Compensation regulations.
