Quanex is looking for a quality conscious, EHS Coordinator to join our team located in Statesville, North Carolina.
In this role you will complete health and safety inspections of facility, interact with the workforce and assist with Health, Safety and Sustainability work and projects at the facility. This position will support 24/5 operations so off shift and weekend hours may be required as needed

Supports safety culture and program through time spent on the production floor, identifying hazards, recommending preventative measures and corrective actions. Follows all safety procedures, rules, and guidelines and promotes a safe working environment for all employees and outside visitors. Participates in site planning, developing and organization of strategic safety plans. Supports and partners with local management on safety and health efforts and program management. Assists with tracking and communication of site leading and lagging safety indicators as well as coordinating local safety activities, such as safety champion training, development, program management, LOTO, machine guarding. Aids in monitoring safety programs to ensure compliance with federal and state legislation or requirements. Coordinates annual Emergency Response Team and employee evacuation drills, safety shoe program and hearing conservation program Participates in safety investigations, documents root cause and recommends corrective action where occupational hazards exist. Conducts health and safety training and job safety and hazard analyses of manufacturing equipment. Attends work on time and for scheduled hours each day, is cooperative, autonomous and self-motivated.
Your Credentials:
3-5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment, 2 years of EHS experience preferred High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Certified in OSHA’s 10 hour OR 30 hour OSHA Safety Course. Ability to maintain and inspect safety related equipment according to ANSI and OSHA standards. Skilled in verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and concisely. People-oriented Committed to and passionate about environment, health and safety. Desire to continue to develop knowledge and skillsThe hourly rate falls within a range of $26.00 to $30.000, depending on experience, qualifications, and job responsibilities.
