As an the EHS Coordinator, you are responsible for supporting the EHS Manager in implementing and maintaining EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role assists in hazard identification, safely training, inspections, and reporting to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. The EHS Coordinator works closely with employees, supervisors, and management to drive continuous improvement in safely performance and environmental sustainability
Health & Safety Compliance:Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local safety regulations.Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.Participate in accident and near-miss investigations, assist in root cause analysis, and track corrective actions.Maintain and update safety policies, procedures, and documentation as required.Support the implementation of safety programs such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HazCom), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Emergency Response Plans.Environmental Compliance & Sustainability:Assist with environmental compliance programs, including waste management, air and water quality monitoring, and spill prevention.Help track and report environmental data related to emissions, water usage, and hazardous waste disposal.Support sustainability initiatives to reduce the company’s environmental impact and improve resource efficiency.Ensure that all environmental permits and records are maintained and up to date.Training & Employee Engagement:Support the development and delivery of EHS training programs, including new hire orientations, safety meetings, and refresher courses.Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for employees and contractors.Promote a culture of safety awareness by engaging employees in EHS initiatives and encouraging hazard reporting.Assist in coordinating emergency drills and response training exercises.Recordkeeping & Reporting:Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, inspections, and compliance reports.Prepare EHS reports for internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.Track and analyze safety metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and areas for improvement.Assist with workers' compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs when necessary.Hazard Identification & Risk Mitigation:Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments to proactively address potential workplace dangers.Work with the EHS Manager to develop and implement corrective and preventive measures to mitigate risks.Assist in evaluating and recommending safety improvements to processes, equipment, and work areas.Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:Work closely with production, maintenance, and management teams to integrate EHS best practices into daily operations.Support EHS committees and safety teams in identifying and resolving workplace safety concerns.Stay up to date on EHS regulations, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Work Experience
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (preferred).1-3 years of experience in an EHS-related role, preferably in manufacturing, chemical, construction, or industrial settings.Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar EHS management systems is a plus.Skills & Competencies:Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage employees at all levels.Ability to conduct training and present information clearly.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and EHS management software.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or Construction Certification.First Aid/CPR Certification.HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Certification.Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or other relevant safety certifications.Physical Requirements & Work Environment:Ability to stand, walk, and conduct field inspections in industrial environments.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, and industrial noise.Occasional travel to other company locations or regulatory agencies may be required.
