EHS Engineer Base Compensation Range: $70,000 - $105,000 Benefits: Benefit Eligible Location: Minneapolis Job Duties: The EHS Engineer will focus on initiatives including, but not necessarily limited to: + Developing and/or improving existing safety programs and associated training aimed at reducing exposure to workplace hazards and compliance with applicable standards. + Experience developing and leading small-group training. + Supporting continual improvement of hazard recognition across all levels of the organization and facilitating routine inspections and issue tracking programs including Management of Change process. + Supporting plant safety committees and committee coordinators to utilize established tools and to share best practices across all locations. + Providing leadership and training for Miller Millings behavior-based safety program called Care 2 Coach. + Developing and/or improving equipment specific Lock Out/Tag Out procedures using a proprietary software program. + Performing routine site inspections to ensure all EHS programs are being fully implemented. + Supporting day-to-day management and compliance utilizing the Miller Milling EHSQ management system. + Support EHS & Sustainability department with activities associated with sustainability programs, initiatives, and data analysis. + Supporting the Corporate Operations leadership to develop and track data associated with key safety and sustainability metrics. + Providing technical EHS support for capital projects review and implementation. + Overseeing the day-to-day function of the Miller Milling Contractor Safety Management system – Appruv – and supporting plant staff with implementation. Qualifications: + Degree in EHS, Environmental Sciences, Safety or Engineering. + Working to achieve Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP). + Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Teams, Power Point, Share Point) + 3-5 years of facility-based or general consulting Safety and/or EHS experience. + Detailed knowledge of state and federal environmental and/or health and safety laws and regulations. + Familiarity with the implementation and auditing of environmental, health and safety management systems. + Experience in Process Safety Management and Risk Management Planning programs. + Working knowledge of NPFA programs. + Ability to collect and organize technical facts and data and present them clearly and concisely, both orally and in written reports + Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to lead discussion topics with cross-functional departments and manufacturing sites. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position. + Ability to travel to all Miller Milling locations to provide support and direction.
