Job details Maintain and implement environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with all applicable EPA, state of Texas, DOT, and OSHA regulations. Work with and support management teams to prevent injuries and illnesses. Manage worker's compensation claims.

Responsibilities: ... Support Management's efforts to prevent injuries, including leading a Safety Committee, acting on safety concerns, implementing and tracking corrective actions, and maintaining safety improvement action registers.
Develops, updates, and delivers EHS training/awareness programs to both employees and contractors for compliance, injury/illness prevention, and EMS Certification.
Reviews job functions, materials handling, and other activities including machine operations and manual lifting to determine improvements for compliance assurance, and injury/illness prevention.
Analyzes injury/illness incidents, including near misses for comprehensive root cause determination. Tracks identified corrective action to resolution.
Manages WC claims to achieve prompt medical attention, return to work, cost containment, and claim closure.
Manages facility hazardous waste and air emissions programs to ensure full compliance.
Reviews and updates site EMS programs, including objective and target projects to achieve timely completion.
Maintains all compliance and EMS certification records per corporate record of retention procedure.
Accomplish all job-related paperwork in the most accurate and ethical manner.
Attend meetings, communicates regularly with managers and supervisor, attend special training, maintains a clean, safe work environment, and communicates to supervisors any safety hazards and issues.
Responsible for reporting all accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions. Perform duties utilizing the required and appropriate personal protective equipment.
Full participation in safety training and the ability to understand and follow directions identified in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA), PPE assessment, Safety Data Sheets, and all Safety Procedures and Alerts.
Properly handle and dispose of all waste, including hazardous wastes that are generated in daily operations.
Assist with HR Administrative related duties as needed.
Other duties as assigned

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Valid Driver's License
Extensive knowledge of EPA, OSHA general industry standards, DOT hazardous material shipping, air emissions permitting and recordkeeping, TCEQ.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
English / Spanish preferred

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:
Four (4) year degree or equivalent work experience in occupational safety or a related field.
3+ years of directly related EHS experience
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to travel to Mexico facilities as needed
Ability to manage large projects
