POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is based out of Montvale, NJ and we do not offer relocation at this time
The EHS Intern will work closely with the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to support initiatives aimed at the reducing workplace injuries, improving ergonomics and reducing process-related risks, with a focus on fire and chemical safety.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of key EHS programs, particularly those designed to improve workplace ergonomics, mitigate fire hazards, and reduce chemical-related risks. You will play an integral part in the application of procedures, strategies, engineering controls, and systems to help reduce and eliminate accidents in the workplace.
This role will have an opportunity to work on projects that directly impact workplace safety and employee well-being across multiple sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Assist in researching compliance i.e. NFPA, OSHA, and NIOSH to support management decisions and strategies.
+ The intern will assist in gathering and analyzing historical safety data, developing supporting tools for an effective ergonomic program.
+ Support the development and implementation of fire and chemical safety risk reduction strategies, focusing on hazard identification and risk prioritization.
+ Assist in presenting findings and reports to senior EHS managers, offering actionable insights for risk reduction and safety program enhancements.
+ Contribute to the ongoing development of a culture of safety, offering suggestions for increasing employee participation and engagement in safety programs
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Occupational Safety, Industrial/Environmental Engineering, Ergonomics, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
