Job Description:

About the Role: 

The EHS (Environmental Health Safety) Manager is responsible for supporting the Category Leader and driving EHS excellence at the plant level.   Focused on leading EHS compliance and supporting the implementation of EHS programs, practices and security strategy to achieve performance excellence.  This position is responsible for driving a safe working culture and implementing effective EHS programs aligned with Corporate EHS that enable the site to effectively identify and mitigate risks.  

Provide strategic direction and oversight, aligned with Corporate EHS for environmental, occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene, occupation medical, and security issues. 

Assisting with safety related regulatory compliance issues, as well as assisting with updating and implementation of company and divisional safety policies/standards. 

Supporting analysis, preparation and maintenance of mandatory /regulatory safety and environmental reports/records through EHS Data Management System 

Lead cross functional and multidisciplinary team to address EHS and security site issues, formulate proposal for strategic and tactical responses, and advise site leadership of impacts and mitigation strategies. 

Carry out the incident investigation process aligned with corporate EHS. 

Support the Site Leadership Team, supervisors and employees to ensure the site success to drive towards zero environmental and employee health & safety incidents. 

Participate in the THS EHS network (communities, conferences, audits) representing the site to develop and implement EHS programs and practices consistency throughout the organization. 

Maintaining Plant SDS Program. 

Updating and maintaining PPE Records. 

Supporting Worker’s Compensation loss control programs and related reporting requirements. 

Maintaining LOTO Instructions for all machinery plant wide. 

Assisting with updating and revising Plant Safety Programs if necessary. 

Ensuring injured employees receive appropriate medical care in a timely manner by accompanying them to Medical Provider Visits.  (Immediate Care, Hospital, etc.) 

Participate in Safety and Environmental Divisional Meetings. 

Coordinator of the Plant Safety Committee. 

Support Environmental, Health and Safety Policies and Practices. 

Ensuring all First Aid Supplies are stocked sufficiently at all times. 

Become First Responder Certified every 2 years. 

Ensuring all AED’s are tested and compliant on a monthly basis. 

Delivering the Safety Portion of New Hire Orientation. 

Managing the Safety Shoe Voucher Program. 

Important Details:

This is a full-time permanent position on 1st shift with flexibility to provide after hours support when needed.  The EHS Manager is contacted any time a safety incident occurs and is expected to provide over the phone or onsite support as needed.  Compensation is $91,500-$114,400 depending on experience. 

1st Shift: 6:45am – 3:00pm 

2nd Shift: 2:45pm – 11:00pm 

3rd Shift: 10:45pm – 7:00am 

About You: 

You’ll fit right in: 

B. S. in Scientific, Engineering or technical discipline., preferred 

5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 

Knowledge, skills and abilities related to:  leading strategic initiatives, planning and management of change, hazard recognition, risk assessment and worker compensation administration. 

Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations and requirements. 

Ability to work in team environment. 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
