EHS Manager

Johnson Service Group (JSG), a professional recruiting firm, is currently seeking an EHS Manager for our global manufacturing client in Mt. Pleasant, PA. This individual will oversee 4 local sites while ensuring safe work practices are further developed and maintained.

Responsibilities:
Ensure accountability and high-level safety and environmental performance throughout the organization. Convey a strong commitment towards environmental, health, and safety standards and guidelines, management systems and procedures. Communicate all health and safety initiatives, processes, and procedures to ensure all employees have a common and uniform understanding. Train, coach and support the organization in environmental, health, and safety issues. Roll-out where necessary, initiate and maintain quality input of a health and safety management system which meets the ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 specifications. Monitor compliance of environmental, health, and safety requirements and handle nonconformance issues according to relevant procedures. Assist and guide all levels of management, supervisors, and employees onsite to implement accident prevention activities, and when needed, act as interface to contractors. Support the managers in the manufacturing facility in risk assessments of workspaces, work tasks, tools, and coordination of common spaces. Carry out safety and environmental audits, investigate accidents and root causes, introduce, and supervise corrective actions.   Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant EHS experience with multi-site experience.   Highly knowledgeable with health, safety and environmental standards in a manufacturing environment. Practical “hands-on” experience managing safety systems with the ability to dig into site specific details and develop solutions to complex safety issues. Strong knowledge of OSHA legislation for manufacturing sites. CSP certification is desirable.
