Position Summary:

The EHS Manager, will be responsible for Environmental, and federal/state/local OSHA Compliance, and the Safety Management System.  This includes managing all permitting and hazardous waste compliance required by the chemical treatment tanks, chemical management, the Injury and Prevention Program, and disposal of hazardous waste.

Reporting Relationships:

The EHS Manager will report to the Plant Manager.  

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Management of Safety Management and OSHA Compliance SystemsLock Out Tag Out/Hazcom/Machine Guarding etc.Implementation of Corporate EHS Compliance ProgramsManage Environmental Compliance ProgramsProcess Treatments tanks, Storm Water, AQMD/EPA, CUPA, OSHA and LAC Water BoardManage Hazardous Waste Materials area and disposal processManage Paint Shop Compliance ProgramManage OSHA log and reporting processPrepare compliance EHS reports and ensure permit conditions are followedConduct and Lead Safety Investigations with Root Cause AnalysisMonthly Safety Walks and Audits with tracking action item list to completionConduct and Document Monthly/New Hire Safety Training; Cardinal Rules of SafetyPerform Job Analysis observationsRespond, facilitate, and/or conduct incident investigations, including injuries and near miss events, to ensure internal processes are followed. Drive corrective and preventive actions to closure as assignedWork closely with HR on Workers Compensation ProcessLead Monthly Safety Committee MeetingsConducts and manages risk assessments and mitigations processes related to jobs or tasks performed by employees. Suggest strategies to mitigate risk.Develop and delivery of visual training tools for shop level employeesMaintain records per internal record retention policies and ensure compliance with all EHS related federal, state, and local record retention.Ensure compliance with contractual, operational and regulatory requirements (OSHA, AS9100, NADCAP etc).Manages the facility with 6S initiatives, audits, and concern reportsWork with Production Manager and Leads on safety training and compliance for 1st and 2nd shiftPerform other reasonable and related duties assigned as needed

Required Skills:

Manufacturing experience requiredDemonstrated subject matter expertise and knowledge of health and safety regulations requiredStrong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and also as a team3-5 Years’ experience with Safety Management and OSHA/Cal OSHA Compliance Systems3-5 Years’ experience with State of CA Environmental ComplianceKnowledge of Hazardous Materials management and disposalAbility to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, hourly employees to senior managementCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable lawsBilingual Spanish preferred

Level of Education:

BS/BA - 4 year degree required, preferable in Safety Management or Environmental Health or related field
