MAU is hiring an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager for our client in Sanford, NC. The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive workplace environmental, safety, and health programs. This role is integral to promoting a culture of compliance and safety across all plant locations, fostering a “Zero Harm” environment through strong relationships and proactive safety leadership. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Collaborate with facility operations teams and EH&S staff to develop and enforce action plans, processes, and procedures that mitigate EH&S risks and ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies, corporate EH&S guidelines, and improvement initiatives. Manage and evaluate assessments to identify hazards and minimize risks, including hazard identification, job safety analysis, risk assessments, pre-startup safety reviews, PPE requirements, machine guarding, and hazardous energy control. Develop, implement, and oversee training programs across all EH&S aspects, ensuring they meet compliance standards, effectively engage employees, and mitigate organizational risk. Coach leadership on essential skills, behaviors, and techniques to establish and maintain a safety culture. Lead or participate in internal audits, compliance assessments, and inspections to support EH&S programs for employees, contractors, and construction projects. Maintain EH&S documentation, records, and management tools in strict compliance with local and federal regulations. Conduct thorough root cause analyses following occupational injuries by applying methods such as the 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, or Pareto Distribution to pinpoint Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) issues. Collaborate with plant management to implement system or process changes aimed at mitigating or eliminating these occupational risks. Provide professional leadership and EH&S expertise across multiple manufacturing locations to proactively address and resolve potential issues, deliver employee training, and conduct EH&S audits focused on identifying and reducing occupational risks.
