EHS Manager

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking an EHS Manager. This role will take place at our growing facility in Hodges, SC. We are able to offer relocation assistance for qualififed candidates.

 

The primary function of the Environmental Health & Safety Manager is to provide Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability leadership for the Hodges Busway plant.  This requires a proactive approach to development and maintenance of processes to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws as well as Eaton’s EHS Management System (MESH), including ISO 14001 requirements. This position will be responsible for identifying and leading environmental, health, and safety activities, assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics, managing interfaces with governmental authorities and external parties and providing technical and tactical support to plant leadership to ensure the plant is operated in a safe, healthy, secure, and environmentally sustainable manner.   

 

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do: Create and deploy a strategy to achieve the Hodges Busway EHS and Sustainability goals.  Establish and share ownership and accountability to achieve goals with the EHS and Leadership Team.Facilitate evaluation and implementation of fiscally and socially responsible methods and processes of reducing operational environmental footprint by managing natural resources and waste. Build organization capability by providing EHS mentorship, training, and development of EHS team, MESH Champions and Hodges Extended Leadership Team to ensure compliance with MESH and Regulatory requirements.Support and participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Kaizens, Ideas Programs, Cost Out to incorporate EHS initiatives to drive improvements in results year over year. Continuously identify, assess, and reduce Environmental Health & Safety risks through the development and deployment of management systems for incident investigation, corrective/preventive action, management of change. Interface with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data. Comply with Eaton’s ethics policy and keep management informed of any issues associated with regulatory compliance, safety incidents and security concerns. Develop Environmental Health & Safety training plan to ensure employee compliance with training requirements and maintain training documentation.Drive broad levels employee engagement in MESH activities to achieve a zero-incident safety culture through leadership, programs, communication, engagement, and employee committees.Initiate opportunities to improve environmental conditions in the community as well as foster employee wellness and off-the-job safety. Support Corporate Environmental Health & Safety initiatives designed to drive best practices. Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institutionMinimum 5 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.Must be eligible to work in U.S. without company sponsorship now and in the future.Skills: Strong ethics, values and the ability to influence others’ decision-making.Ability to manage multiple projects/activities; results driven.Knowledge of product and manufacturing process.Process-oriented and ability lead or contribute to continuous improvement.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead change in a team environment.Ability to build effective teams, creative thinker.Ability to deal with ambiguity and make effective decisions.Ability to think strategically and influence others’ decision-making.Desire to work in a collaborative environment.Change management skills.Strong influencing, negotiation, coaching and consulting skills
