This role is part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin’s design, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of EHS Professionals, you will provide subject matter expertise to engineering and production resources related to EHS to New Glenn. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of safety and health compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at the Rocket Park facilities and satellite Locations including, but not limited to: OSHA, PSM, NFPA, and ANSI requirements. You will ensure environmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, but not limited to: NEPA, RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, and NPDES.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manages EHS professionals in accomplishment of organizational goalsImplements EHS programs for the evaluation and control of potential hazards including, but not limited to industrial hygiene; fall protection; confined space; lock out tag out; process safety management; hazard assessments; hearing conservation and noise hazards; heat stress; and environmental management.Performs a wide range of EHS consultation services, which includes planning, managing, and reporting the results of assessments.Provides subject matter expertise in design and test reviews.Provides support to incidents, including spills; injuries, hazardous operations; launches; hurricanes; and other emergenciesEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal safety, health, and environmental regulations at all Rocket Park facilities. Prepare and submit reports to federal and state regulatory agencies as requiredContinually update and ensure compliance with the Blue Origin processes and proceduresIndoctrinate new employees on our EHS ProgramAssist in waste disposal activities including hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, universal waste, and recycling materialsContribute to the injury/illness and near miss reporting processDevelop, update, and deliver EHS trainingServe as site focal point for safety and environmental issues and concernsEvaluate operations for continuous process improvement and implementation of preventive action measuresSupporting development of job hazard analyses and risk assessmentsProvide subject matter expertise to engineering and production resources related to EHSProvide EHS related input for building design and operationsPerform periodic audits of our Safety ProgramsMinimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or occupational safetyKnowledge and ability to use industrial hygiene tools and monitors.Expertise in writing technical reports.Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA and State of Florida regulationsKnowledge of Process Safety Management methodsKnowledge of incident / accident reporting practices, investigations, root cause / corrective action processesGood analytical skills and attention to details, technical writing, with an ability to interpret and communicate complex technical informationCandidate must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds. Must be able to physically climb multiple flights stairs, withstand prolonged standing, and work in adverse weather conditionsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
