In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading a world class safety culture in which team members are engaged in driving safety performance. As part of our team, you will serve as a resource to the Operations Team in regards to EHS matters and act as a daily point of contact for all EHS issues.
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Develop, implement and integrate EHS programs, standards, training, and facility specific procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory and Company policies. Lead EHS programs including, but not limited to Hazcom, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Title V, stormwater, hearing conservation, lock out tag out, confined space entry, machine guarding, and employee participation programs..
Investigate all releases, injuries and near-misses to root cause. Reviews plant incident statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areas.
Perform risk assessments. Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices and develop hazard control practices and programs.
Evaluate new health and safety technologies and processes to develop strategies and tactics for reducing workplace and operational hazards and environmental impacts.
Conduct periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment, and working conditions to ensure conformance to appropriate safety and sanitary standards and regulations.
Integrate management systems with engineering/maintenance program documentation to maintain regulatory compliance and safe operating conditions.
Maintain facility's compliance records, reports and permits.
Assist line and staff management in understanding EHS regulations, and company policies/initiatives to ensure effective implementation. Aligns corporate and local EHS goals and strategies.
Lead employee training programs regarding EHS compliance and Operations training.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
QualificationsRequired:
Bachelor's degree in EHS or Engineering related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of Industrial safety and occupational EHS within a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership, managerial, training, facilitation and mentoring skills.
Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements and EHS policies, procedures and programs. Experience in life safety codes: EHS regulations, training, principles of occupational safety and health, and Industrial hygiene.
Strong Project/Problem Resolution skills.
Good verbal, written and presentation skills.
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google Collaboration, Databases and function specific software.
Preferred:
Advanced professional EHS certification (ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM) Experience with OSHA Voluntary Protection Program, Process Safety Management or similar structured safety management system.
Prior direct management experience.
